+293% active users in year one: how Houfy’s blog became its best growth channel.
“Working with Anna has been one of the easiest collaborations I’ve had.”

A vacation rental platform built around direct bookings.
Houfy is a vacation rental platform built around direct bookings. Hosts list their properties, guests book straight through Houfy, and nobody pays a commission to a middleman along the way. It’s a model built on cutting out the extra fees and letting hosts and guests connect.
The product was solid, but the blog wasn’t matching it. Houfy wanted more traffic, yes, but more than that, they wanted content that engaged their community instead of just filling a calendar. A platform built on direct relationships needed a blog that built relationships too.
Problem.
When Houfy came to us in 2024, the blog had a weak SEO presence. There was no keyword strategy and no clear line between what got published and what people were searching for.
Houfy also serves two audiences that want completely different things from the same brand. Hosts need practical, operational content: how to run a listing, how to compete, how to make guests happy. Guests need inspiration and reassurance: where to go, what to expect, why booking direct is worth it.
One blog, two different jobs, and no funnel underneath either one.
Solution.
We built two separate content plans, one for hosts and one for guests, and made sure each one covered the whole journey instead of just the start of it.
- Posts to get people’s attention through search
- Posts to help them compare their options once they were already looking
- Posts to give them one last reason to book direct once they were close to deciding
SEO wasn’t something we added once the content was done. It was the plan from the beginning.
What happened when Houfy stopped guessing and started ranking.
A channel that had barely registered a year earlier nearly tripled its active users and more than doubled its total views, all within its first twelve months, rather than the slow multi-year climb most blogs take to get anywhere close.
On year two, growth didn’t taper off the way most first-year spikes do. Active users kept climbing (+11.7%), and engagement time jumped 20% on top of that, which means people weren’t just finding the blog, they were staying once they got there. Anyone can spike traffic for a quarter. Fewer people can get an audience to stay.
Organic search is now Houfy’s dominant acquisition channel, and it’s still climbing.
The partnership is still going. Two and a half years in, it shows no sign of slowing down.
A few of the pieces behind those numbers.
Listicles, comparison guides, destination round-ups and how-tos, all written and published on the Houfy blog.

“What stood out most while working with Anna was her professionalism and how organized she kept everything. Nothing ever slipped, and she always knew exactly where we were in a project.
Her communication is what really sets her apart. She’s responsive, clear, and proactive, which made the whole process feel effortless on our end. We never had to chase her for updates or wonder what was happening next.
The content she produced consistently supported our brand and helped us hit the goals we set out to achieve. She took the time to understand what we needed and delivered work that felt aligned with our voice, not generic.
I’d recommend her without hesitation to anyone looking for a contractor who’s reliable, talented, and genuinely great to work with.”
