Group Trips, Made Easy
A house. A few days. The people you actually want to spend them with.
Group trips are fantastic in theory and a logistical nightmare in
practice. Someone has to find the house, someone has to book it, and someone always wants
a cheaper option. On Houfy, at least the booking part is easy: one direct reservation, no
service fees stacked on top for every person in your party. Here’s what’s
worth looking at right now.

Group Trip Booking Tips
How to actually pull this off.
Getting six people to agree on anything is hard. A house is harder. Here’s how to make it
less painful.
|
i.
One person books. Everyone else pays them back immediately.
Group bookings with multiple cards are a nightmare. Pick one person, have them book direct
on Houfy, and collect from everyone else within 24 hours. Not “soon.” 24
hours. The longer you wait, the more someone does math they shouldn’t be doing.
|
|
|
ii.
Book 8–10 weeks out for summer long weekends.
Properties that sleep 8+ are the first to go. If you’re still in the “we
should probably figure this out” phase in May, you’re already behind for July
4th and Labor Day.
|
|
|
iii.
Message the host before you commit.
Tell them who you’re bringing and what you’re celebrating. A host who responds
fast and actually answers your questions is the one you want. On Houfy, you’re
talking directly to the owner, not a chatbot.
|
|
|
iv.
Check the minimum stay before you fall for a listing.
Many summer listings require 5–7 nights. If your trip is a long weekend, ask the
host directly. Some will flex for the right dates. Most won’t know you’re
interested unless you ask.
|
|
|
v.
Skip the service fee math.
On other platforms, a $300/night rental can become $400+ by checkout once fees stack up.
On Houfy, the price you see is the price you split. For a group of eight over five nights,
that difference is real money.
