Meet Our Amazing Hosts

Melanie
Host of Stay on the Vineyard, Paso Robles
|
Meet Melanie. She lives on a vineyard in Paso Robles and has decided you should too – for
a few nights at least.
Melanie and Jonathan Greer didn’t set out to run a hospitality business – they were
already deep in the wine industry. Jonathan had over 200 wineries under his belt, and Melanie
was supporting multiple wineries remotely. At some point they realized their 10-acre vineyard in
Paso Robles was too good to keep to themselves.
So they built “Stay on the Vineyard.” Two private suites, each with a separate
entrance, vineyard views from the shower, a king-size bed, a firepit in the vines, and
complimentary beer from the property. Owls, elk, bald eagles. Morning fog rolling through the
hills. Sunsets that face west and last long enough to finish a glass.
Melanie’s mission is to exceed your expectations, delight and surprise you, and offer more
than you came for. With a 4.98 rating across 451 reviews, it’s fair to say she delivers.

Summer Booking Tips
How to lock in your summer rental before everyone else does
The difference between a great summer and a scrambled one is usually a single booking decision.
Here’s how to make it early.
|
1
|
Book 8–12 weeks out for peak summer dates
Memorial Day through Labor Day is peak season almost everywhere. If you’re eyeing a beach
town in August or a mountain cabin on a long weekend, don’t wait.
|
|
2
|
Ask the host about minimum stay flexibility
Many listings require 5–7 night minimums in summer. But if you only need 3 nights, message
the host directly. On Houfy, you’re talking to the actual owner, not a bot.
|
|

|
Check mid-week gaps before assuming nothing’s available
Saturday to Saturday goes first. Shift your dates by even one or two days, and you’ll find
better availability – usually at a lower rate, too.
|
|

|
Book direct and skip the service fee math
On platforms that charge service fees, a $250/night rental can cost $350+ by checkout. On Houfy,
the price you see is the price you pay.

Message the host before you commit
Response time tells you everything. The host who replies in 20 minutes with real answers is the
one you actually want to hand you the keys.

Wine Country
Two nights. Good wine. Barefoot in a vineyard in the morning. The only decision

Lakes
The whole crew, one roof, a dock out back. The kind of trip where someone catches their first fish, and nobody checks their phone.
